Roland M. Martel

Roland M. Martel is Executive Vice President of Illinois Tool Works Inc. ( ITW), a Fortune 200 diversified manufacturer of highly engineered components and industrial systems and consumables.  With $13.9 billion in revenues, ITW is a multinational manufacturer of a diversified range of value-adding and short lead-time industrial products and equipment. The Company consists of 840 business units in 57 countries and employs some 59,000 people.

Mr. Martel joined ITW in 1994 as the General Manager of ITW Anchor Stampings. Over the years, he has held various Vice President and President positions in the ITW Metal Components division.  Prior to his current position, Mr. Martel served as President of ITW's Global Automotive Division, and in 2006, he became Executive President of the Global Automotive Components businesses.  He was named Executive Vice President of the Automotive and Appliance Components businesses in 2009.

Mr. Martel earned his B.A. degree in Mathematics from Colby College in Waterville, ME in 1976. In 1982 he received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Operations Management from Cornell University.

Mr. Martel is a member of the steering committee of KPMG Automotive Share Forum.  He is a volunteer for walk-a-thons ALS in Chicago.  He is also a fundraiser for Generations Capital Campaign St. Athanasius Parish in Evanston, IL.  He is a past assistant scout master for Troop 170 in Unionville, CT.
