Each year, ITW divisions around the world dedicate Days of Action to live out our commitment to fulfill our Purpose Beyond Products and contribute to a more equitable society for all. Our decentralized, entrepreneurial culture enables our people to get involved and make a difference locally, while being connected to an enterprise that makes a difference globally.
In June 2023, more than 400 Chicagoland colleagues, interns and retirees joined community partners in support of the Austin and Belmont-Cragin neighborhood. One of the largest Days of Action in the company’s history, ITW’s team of volunteers included representatives from 23 divisions, seven segments and six Employee Resource Groups.
The day’s activities included the assembly of thousands of backpacks with school supplies, snack packs, as well as hygiene and baby kits for local nonprofits to distribute to individuals and families. Another signature project aimed to beautify the grounds at ITW David Speer Academy and around the neighborhood.
